THERESA KRAMER, PT (OWNER)

After graduating from St.Louis University in 1987, Theresa received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.  She received her extensive hours in training, developing her manual therapy, aquatic and orthopedic skills.  Her over thirty years of work experience has been comprehensive, involving all areas of adult patient care.  She developed the Aquatics and Lumbar Stabilization Program at a Hospital's Industrial Rehabilitation programs.  She has helped numerous back injury clients return to work and provided Back School instruction to local industries.  She performed physical therapy consultations and taught yoga to heart patients at a hospital based Outpatient Cardiac Rehab program.  She has traveled to San Francisco as an Exercise Specialist with heart participants in the Dean Ornish Heart Disease Reversal Program's quarterly retreats.  She has completed her 200 hour Certification Program with Integrative Yoga Therapy, and now teaches Yoga privately and to small groups.  She has also completed training in Pilates mat, Reformer, Tower, Chair, Barrel, cadillac and Pilates for Scoliosis.  She incorporates her manual therapy and exercise skills into aquatic rehabilitation as well.  She has completed multiple educational courses in various techniques including, myofascial release, muscle energy, craniosacral therapy, strain counter-strain, Stanley Paris joint mobilization, and McConnell taping for knees and shoulders.  Her greatest area of interest and expertise lies in treating sacroiliac dysfunction.  She is passionate about the quality of care that she provides her patients, about her family, love of nature, surfing and traveling.  She is the owner and President of PT by the Sea, Inc. 

JENNIFER DEVERS, PT, ATC
Jennifer graduated from James Madison University with her Bachelor of Science degree, and received her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia.  As an ATC, she worked with division one college and professional athletes.  She practiced in Newport Beach, CA for seven years, 5 of which she served as Clinic Director.  She has specialized training in foot, knee, and shoulder injuries, infant torticollis treatment and is a certified Pilates instructor.  She has been with our practice since 2009 and lives in Wilmington with her husband and two children.

SUSAN O'CARROLL, PT
Susan graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor in Science degree in 1991.  Since that time she has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, acute care and adult day care addressing orthopedic and neurological diagnoses.  Susan has taken countless continuing education courses in women's health/incontinence, manual therapy techniques (including myofascial release, strain counterstrain, muscles energy, craniosacral therapy, Total Motion Release and joint mobilization) and therapeutic exercise (including McKenzie back exercises, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, balance and vestibular rehabilitation, golf rehabilitation, muscle imbalances and Pilates).  Susan's treatment approach emphasizes patient education, targeted exercises to address muscle imbalances and improve function, and a variety of manual therapy techniques.  Susan developed a special interest and began taking continuing education courses in women's health and pelvic floor dysfunction in 2003.  She enjoys incorporating this training into treating pelvic pain, incontinence, and other related orthopedic issues such as low back and hip pain.  Susan has been working in Wilmington since 2004.

MEREDITH MCINNIS, DPT 

Meredith received her Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from The University of St.Augustine for Health Sciences.  She is certified in Dry Needling and has had incredible outcomes with patients ranging from carpal tunnel dysfunction to misdiagnosed chest pains.  She has treated a wide variety of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, elite athletes to those with debilitating disorders.  She recently became certified in Aquatic Physical Therapy.  Her outside experience as a former nationally ranked tennis player has helped her to empathize with patients therefore building a relationship on trust and teamwork to maximize a patients rehabilitation experience.  As a Wilmington native, Meredith has founded two non-profit community services organizations.

CATHERINE DUNCAN, DPT, RYT200

A native of the beautiful Wilmington, Catherine graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's of Arts in Exercise and sports science.  She went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at East Carolina University.  She is a certified yoga instructor and is currently completing an additional certification in Medical Therapeutic Yoga through the Professional Yoga Therapy Institute.  She has had additional training in geriatric yoga and is also certified in the LSVT BIG program for Parkinson disease.  

ERIN ALEXANDER, PTA AND CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Erin received her A.A.S. from Guilford Technical Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program in Jamestown, NC in December 2013. She earned her B.A. in Biology (2002) at Stockton University in NJ, and was a graduate student in the Nutrition and Applied Physiology program at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Following graduation from the PTA program at GTCC Erin worked in the acute care setting at a 900+ bed hospital in the Triad area, NC, where she worked with patients in orthopedics, oncology, general medical/surgical, behavioral health, cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary, neurology, and limb preservation.
Erin also holds certifications in yoga and Pilates, with yoga certifications in Bikram Yoga, pre-natal yoga, and the Barkan Method Hot Yoga, and her full certification in STOTT PILATES. Additionally, Erin had the privilege of studying under Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ successor, completing 300 hours as an apprentice at The Pilates Studio in NYC. She is currently pursuing certification in the CoreAlign method, having completed Level 1 training. 
She lives in Hampstead with her husband and three children, and is very excited to be a part of PT by the Sea where she can apply her background in Pilates and yoga to the field of physical therapy. She looks forward to meeting you!

AMY COLEMAN, CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR AND LMBT
Amy graduated from NC School or the Arts and pursued a successful career in dance theater, which led her to NY, LA and Germany.  She returned home to Eastern NC in 2003 to be close to family.  Amy's love of movement inspired her to study Pilates.  She holds certifications with Polestar Pilates Education, Coastal Carolina Pilates and became a Pilates Method Alliance certified instructor in 2007.  She enjoys teaching ballet and Pilates to students from ages 8 to 80.  Amy also received her LMBT from Miller Motte in the spring of 2015.  She is already taking on new clients at PT by the Sea.

SAVANNAH BATCHELDER, RYT, BILLING/ADMINISTRATION
A native of Wilmington, Savannah received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Wilmington Yoga Center in May 2014.  She is also a member of the National Yoga Alliance.  She has been practicing yoga since 2005 and became interested in teaching after sustaining an injury in which yoga was the only helpful treatment.  She continues her yoga education and recently completed her Therapeutic Yoga training.  She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Public Relations.


SANDY MCGRATH, OFFICE MANAGER
Sandy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brevard College with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition.  She is also certified in Reiki and comes to PT by the Sea with 5 years experience managing physical therapy clinics.  In her free time, Sandy enjoys practicing yoga and spending time outdoors with her pup, Haley.

KAYLA EBRAHIMNEJAD, ADMINISTRATION
Kayla graduated from UNC Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology.  She plans to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in the future and is gaining experience while working at PT by the Sea.  In her free time, Kayla enjoys riding horses and spending time outside with her friends and family.
